Stone-Coated Steel Roofs

During ancient times, human beings constructed houses for shelter, just as we do today. They wanted them to hold up well and used every tool at their disposal to make sure they did so, just as we do today.

As the times and technology changed, so did the lifespan of roofing materials, and that includes roofing.

Why are stone-coated steel roofs so popular?

There are several reasons for this. The first is the lighter weight of the roofs, which puts less pressure on the structure and its foundation. The durable roofs can also withstand extremely harsh weather conditions. Finally, when some people think “steel” they think of a hard, gray surface. However, stone-coated steel roofs are very ductile and can be made into all sorts of shapes to fit everyone’s style preferences.

But by far the best benefit is their extended lifespan. While asphalt shingle and terracotta shingle roofs typically only last 20 years, stone-coated steel roofs can last well into the next generation of ownership when maintained properly. And speaking of maintenance, they require less of that too!
